Hi all, long time no see. I hope you all keeping safe and sound.

I had a question, so the situation is, my mother has about 7 months left of her 5 year TRV (visit visa)

I heard that she would not be able to travel to Canada once the validity of her VISA is less than 6 months.

Basically, can she take a 2-3 week trip to Canada if, (for eg), she has 3-4 months left on her VISA, can she go?

Thanks in advance :)

This information is incorrect - the validity date on temporary resident visas issued by Canada is the last date on which it may be used for admission. (Strongly recommended that the validity of the passport should be more than six months though - could have issues if passport expires during expected stay).
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/visitors/visa-validity-expiry-dates.html

It has no bearing on the amount of time she may stay once she arrives - that will typically be six months from the date of admission, may or may not be written in the entry stamp. So yes, she should be able to travel using that visa.

Warning: this is different from many other countries. And also, there is no guarantee that airlines will understand or know this (although they should), and the policy doesn't help if the traveller can't get on the plane. Check with the airline.

As a point that may be obvious, all concerned may pay more attention to this if eg she's travelling the day before the TRV expires.

Awesome, thanks for the reply, she'll probably be going for a few weeks with about 4 months left on her TRV.
Much Appreciated

There should be no problem, I should think. Do take note of course of the covid travel restrictions - that will almost certainly get far more attention than the TRV validity.
