Hello everyone,

I'll get straight to the point. I'm applying from Brazil for a TRV for my planned trip to Canada by the end of the year.
I'm a student-missionary at a Missions Institute in Brazil and the purpose of my visit would be to fulfill my course's internship program (we're supposed to work at a Christian organization or church for around 140 hours during our Summer leave). I plan on staying there for about a month and a half.
Two questions I have are:
1. Having this info in mind, which option should I choose under "Purpose of my visit"? (Business, Tourism, Short-Term Studies, Other?)
2. I already have a letter from my the Missions Institute's director that shows I'll be back for classes next February, but the information is all in Portuguese-BR. Should I have it translated to English?

Any help soon would me much appreciated as I intend to apply by the end of the week.

Thanks in advance for all your help! ;D

You need a notarized translation.

BTW this seems weird. Why does your intership has to be in Canada? Don't get me wrong but educational programs which have internships abroad know all these specfics, therefore the letter should already have been given in English. Also if you are on a mission you should also have a letter from the people with whom you are doing the internship with. Do you have it?

Thanks for your help.

It doesn't have to be in Canada. My school leaves it open for us to apply wherever we want, but since I've already been there I already know a place which I think would be interesting for me go, since I plan on eventually working there in the future, once I've graduated. This will be a kind of test run, just so I'm sure that's what I want.

The church I'll be working with is already getting their invitation letter ready.

I'll ask the school for another letter in English. The director is American and a native English speaker so it shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks again for your assistance!
