Hi all,
I hope you are doing great. I am doing PhD from the United Kingdom with a scholarship and the scholarship has approved one research visit at Canada. Hence, I have applied for the temporary resident visa (TRV) on April 19, 2017 (because I will not be getting money or financial support from Canada so didn't apply for work permit) from the London, United Kingdom to have a research exchange at one of the institutes of the Montreal but since the letter which the institute has sent me was indicating that I need the work permit, therefore, on April 26, 2017 (exactly 07 days) I received the decision that my TRV application has been cancelled and fees will be refunded to me and it was further directed that I should apply for the work permit.
Later on, I contacted the Institute for sending me the visiting visa invitation letter and after submitting (emailing) the letter, I received the following email onMay 23, 2017 (about one month after their decision).
Dear ______,
Based on the additional information you have provided, the visa officer is satisfied that you are seeking to perform self-funded research and meet the definition of business visitor.
Please be advised that an application for a Work Permit is no longer required and that your application for a Temporary Resident Visa remains in process. As soon as processing is completed you will be notified.
Ideally, it has been 08 days now (as the processing time from the United Kingdom is 08 days) but I haven't heard anything from the Canadian immigration. Please, can anyone tell me that how long this process will take more?
Thank you
