TRV visa expedited

Hello Members,
I applied for Canadian visit visa at Washington Office thru mail on May 14, 2012. I checked processing time was about 30 days. Unfortunately an urgent need has raised for which we need to travel to canada from US, this will need my Passport and Visa. I was wondering is there a way that the canada visitor visa can be expedited and I get back my passport. Visa authorities are not willing to answer any concern till the regular processing time is due(30 days).
Can we visit Canada Embassy at Washington and request the Visa. Please help

Hey I am in the same boat. I have to travel to Canada on 13th July and they received my application on 14th June. I am a bit nervous as this is cutting too close.

I have also applied to Washington DC and am wondering what happened in your case? Did you get it expedited?
