I received the TRV today for me and my family from the Delhi, (India) consulate. The processing time was three days. I submitted the documents to their VFS office in Mumbai. VFS did a great job returning the passport with visa under 72 hours..
If you follow the checklist provided at the CIC website one shouldn't have any problem. In addition to the necessary forms I submitted Last three years tax returns, Old passports for proof of travel history, our marriage certificate. Also include a one page summary of the financial info you submit. I did not provide any proof of hotel booking or flight tickets as I had not done either of them at the time of application. Nor did I have any local contact. If you credentials are good and your intentions honest then there shouldn't be any problem.
