Hi everybody!

I just found this forum and the information is priceless. Great job!!!!

I need some clarification:
My brother is here with a 5 years TRV. At the POE back in July he got a stamp in his pasport with an expiry date for January which is the 6 months period he's allowed to stay. Now is December and we just came back from Cuba with him and he got another stamp in his passport stating just the date of the entry. Does that mean that he can stay for another 6 months from the date of his second entry to Canada? He's been travelling and studying english during his stay and he's enrolled in a French Language course in February. So my question is: does he need to apply for an extesnion so he can proceed with his French Language course or the stamp from the second entry is suffucient?

Thanks
Nika

Yes, if there is no other date apart from the arrival date.

If it is a short term course (less than 6 months), and it would be finished by the end of his valid stay, then he does not need a student permit, so yes he can take the French language course.
