Hello All,

I have applied for work permit online. I received a message from CIC yesterday saying a decision has been made on my TRV and requesting my passport. I was also provided a link to determine where to send my passport. I was hoping it would point me to either LA or NY, however it seems like the choice is left to me. My question is does it matter where I send my passport. Personally, I would prefer LA as I have been reading that the processing time is faster there. However, I also remember reading that the NY office does not process work visa applications. As, I understand I am only being given a TRV as of now and the work permit will be issued at the border? So perhaps it does not matter whether I send my passport to LA or NY?

My other question is ..How do you mail your passport for stamping.

I gather from the CIC website that I would need the following. I just want to make sure that all I need to send via mail is the passport, the letter I received, VAC fees and VAC consent form and also a prepaid return envelope? I am not sure how the prepaid envelope works. If there are better ways of dealing with this process please do share.

I would appreciate comments and experiences to help me get through this process.

Thank you!

I have figured out how to send the passport. I would really appreciate if anyone can share their experience / knowledge on where to send the passport for stamping.

Thank you!

Thank you, I just posted there. Since I had applied in the work permit category, and received a TRV only for now. I am confused about how the whole stamping process works. I would appreciate if anyone can share any related info.

Thank you!
