TRV required to enter, on PGWP?

Hi, posting this on behalf of a friend:

He has PGWP work permit till end of 2022, works hourly in Walmart as a Sales Associate in Canada.
Traveled to India on February and return was scheduled on April 7th, 2020. But he didn't realize his TRV (which he got during his study permit) is going to expire on March 31st, 2020.

Will he be allowed to enter Canada if he changes his flight before 31st March?
In that case is 27th/28th March is good enough?

If he changes his flight so that he will arrive in Canada before 31 March, then he should be fine.

He wants to return to Canada on 30th March but I am insisting him to come back couple of days early, but at the same time I also feel bad if he has to cut short his vacation without any reason (i mean he can enjoy extra 2/3 days if there is no need to rush).

If he tries to get on a plane on a day his visa expires, the airline may not allow him to board. Since India to Canada is a long, long flight, he has to be careful of travel times and time zones and potential delays. He does not want to get stuck in London or Singapore on his way to Canada.
