Hello All,

I applied for a visitor visa for my spouse since govt. is allowing immediate family members to enter the counter. I'm surprised that not just the visa got refused but that too within 36 hours on the weekend.

I doubt the whole system is automated and no human actual looked at my application as these offices don't work on weekend. Anybody heard anything similar?

Canada is allowing spouses and parents to enter IF they already have a TRV. It was a bit misleading since most will not be granted a TRV especially spouses.

every case is different. just because many people are getting does not mean you will get it too. criteria is always the same for a successful TRV. most important is ties to home country that can be proved only by owning a property and nothing else.
Owning property is not required for approval. Longterm well paying employment tends to be one of the most common strong ties.

why are you misguiding people? if you are saying savings is important how come owning a property is not important.
I am not the one misguiding people. Owning a property is not required for TRV approval. It is helpful but not required. Plenty of people have been approved showing other strong ties.

could you please elaborate what other ties and on what basis you are saying owning a property is not required? if owning a property is not a tie what else is? job? one can easily resign. cash in bank or at hand ? one can easily move. family ties are important imagine if it was that important why would spouse's and parents and sibling's have to face so many refusals. you are contradicting yourself mate.
My wife owned no property in the third country she was temporarily resident in when she applied for a visa. She used a pet cat as proof of a tie to the third country of residence. She had no substantial savings. This was pre-COVID.
