Hi people need some advise. Should i reapply for the visa? My sponsership application is in progress. I got married back in March 18. I decided to invite my wife to visit me for a month. We applied for visit visa but it was refused on the following grounds.

  • Family ties in Canada and in country of residence
  • Current employment situation
  • I am not satisfied that you have sufficient funds, including income or assets, to carry out your stated purpose in going to Canada or to maintain yourself while in Canada and to effect your departure.
  • You have not provided sufficient documentation to support your / your host's income and assets
Notes
  • the information in the travel and identity documents;
  • the reason for the travel to Canada;
  • the person’s contacts in Canada;
  • the person’s ties to his or her country of residence (including immigration status, employment and family ties);
  • the person’s ability to pay for the trip and to support himself or herself while in Canada; whether the person is likely to respect the conditions of his or her admission to Canada; whether the person is inadmissible to Canada; and whether the person would be likely to leave Canada at the end of his/her authorized stay.
With my application I attached the affidavit that I will take care of the expenses. I attached my tax assessment, job letter, bank statement with a decent balanceand marriage certificate . I also mentioned that she will return to Pakistan on time as she would not want have any impact on her sponsership application. She has a good traveling history and she always respected visa terms.

I covered all the aspects but still was refused. Any suggestions?

Since she has a PR application in process, IRCC suspects she wants to remain in Canada long term. It sounds like you attached a lot of evidence about yourself in the application. This would have weakened the application by showing that she has strong ties to Canada rather than her home country. What specific evidence was included to show her home ties? You can certainly try applying again but the chances of another refusal are high.

I see thanks a lot dear. I know few people locally whos sponsership applications were in progress and they got approved for visit visa. My wife's lives with her parents and siblings and I showed that too but I guess that's not also enough to show her family ties.

Her family ties to Canada are far strong than her family ties to her home country since you are in Canada. Demonstrating her parents and siblings live there won't be regarded as a tie. What other evidence did she show to demonstrate ties? Proof of employment? Any proof of property ownership? Proof of assets?

She is not working at the moment and she doesn't have any property

In that case her chances of being approved are extremely low since she effectively has no ties to her home country. I'm not sure I would try applying again.

She doesn't have to return once she is in Canada. Her PR application can be processed successfully no matter where she is.
