TRV rejected due to 2 reasons: insuff funds and VO not satisfied with truthfulness of all answers

Could it be possible that VO came to know about the FSW PR application filed 4-5 yrs ago (altho the application was returned immediately as the job profile didn't meet one of the 29 high demand occupations listed under FSW program of Permanent Residency at that time)?

Also, US visa refusal around 8-10 yrs ago wasn't mentioned either.

Only thing is ---- if they think that this info was hidden, wouldn't they give a 2 yr ban?

So I think it's more likely the "truthfulness" is related to some other issue.

Re-applying in 2 days, would mentioning these refusals now WORSEN the application?

It won't worsen the application. If you mention them and are rejected with 'truthfulness' removed from the list then you'll know that's why.

Have you addressed the insufficient funds?

Yes they do know about your refused FSW application and they also know about your USA visa application. Make no mistake, they know everything about that.

Would that give you an automatic 2 year ban? In my experience the omissions in this kind of immigration history are evaluated in a case to case basis, sometimes they are flexible and sometimes they are super tough. So short answer no, it would NOT be an immediate 2 year ban.

Are you hiding more information? Do you have more things you know you are not being trustful? Maybe you are right.

Now you are tagged as a person who is not being honest to CIC. So being honest would be the way to go if you want a TRV.

Why did you leave out all this info? You were supposed to be truthful.
