The maximum processing time for a TRV (Temporary resident visa) in buffalo is about 28 days according to:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/international/13-temp-visitors.asp#west

I have a question: does anyone know if those 28 days are business days (not including weekends) or the normal calendar days?

Thank you.

Yes sir.. Government Offices only consider business days only in their statistics calculations. For them, weekends are just for fun so are any stat holidays.

Its total number of days and they are not business days , If it were business days they have to specify its business days .

Positive, I will just give you my example my app was sent to missi 23 jul and was approved on 24 aug according to the website it says average time to get approval at missi is 42 days now , I received the letter of approval mailed to my house in 38 regular days . If it were business days if you calculate it 42 business days is equivalent to almost 2 months and its certainly not taking to 2 months for outbound spousal approvals out of missi.

Great, thank you very much for confirming this.
So for visitor visa, 28 days for processing at the Buffalo consulate is about 1 months.

I feel much better now. Thanks again for the help.

You can be sure it works in calendar days by comparing to the inland processing times:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/canada/process-in.asp

There they list the processing time, and the date they're up to in terms of when applications were received. It always adds up, which it wouldn't if it were business days (or business months, which wouldn't make any sense!)

Hi matthewc,

This makes sense. Thanks a lot for the answer. Then all days are in calendar days, not business days.

Thanks a lot.
