Hi there I am from the Philippines, I submitted my TRV in September 2020 and my Fiancé is a Canadian Citizen. I was so confused and my frustration is that my application for the visitor’s visa has been submitted (Sept 9, 2020, the very first day the Canadian Consulate in the Philippines was accepting applications) but I have no way of alerting the Canadian Consulate that I would qualify as a person who is in a long-term relationship with a Canadian Citizen to be reunited with. I am eligible as his Extended family and now is there anyone of you here who experiences this kind of situation????
Did you raise a web form or send an email on this and update your application by informing them that you are in a long-term relationship so that they could prioritize the application and hence qualify as an extended family member under the new rules? Did you also send supporting documents to show that you are eligible to travel to Canada at this time (for example, the application for authorization and statutory declaration for extended family members)?????
OR do I still need to wait until my TRV is finally approved? My reason for traveling is to reunite with my Fiancé and I know it is not a compassionate reason and non-discretionary purpose =(
