TRV needed by tuesday applied 7 weeks ago

Hey All

I applied for my mother's TRV in Islamabad (paper based application) on April 4th 2104.
She wanted to visit me for my convocation which is in 6 days (29th May 2014).
I emailed them and notified about the situation but there has not been a single reply.
I had put the invitation for the convocation that explicitly says 29th May 2014 10 am .
These bastards don't realize that there is a flight to be taken (at least 15 hours) as well to be there on 29th

I know alot of friends who applied close to 2nd April and got visas for their families.

The sole purpose of her visit is to attend the convocation.My question is how stupid the people at CIC Islamabad are that they don't care about the purpose of visit and just delay the application for no fucking reason.I mean there is not even a single way to at least remind them about the situation.

That is correct. It is your sole responsibility to request the VISA in advance thinking of all the possible bad scenarios. They can't process each visa based on "purpose of visit" or hard dates, to comply with each ones schedule.

From their point of view a convocation is something well known in advance, so you could have applied in January or February to anticipate any delays (for example my gf requested her VISA on November for her vacations on May next year).

well they say apply 8 weeks in advance to your departure,I did that .
I don't know how much more early I need to apply!
Plus I know people who applied to the same office +/- 2 days .
They already have their TRVs

They are just lazy people doing nothing all day!

This last week I was hanging all day just waiting for a response from them.
I don't see them returning it by Tuesday (only way she can catch her flight) so I should just cancel all my reservations.

CIC website is specific on this, all inquiries about an application under the processing timeframe will recieve a "in process" response. I see that Islamabad has a process time of 46 days (business days) so that is 9 weeks.... wow, long time.... so you will get a response most likely on week 9 or 10.

You have to understand they can't give personal assistance to everyone. As once an officer told me "everyone thinks their case is special, urgent, simple and knows someone who got it way faster".

Plus I know people who applied to the same office +/- 2 days .
They already have their TRVs

Yeah you got unlucky... but well that's the way it goes. At least ehy haven't refused it so cheer up
