I am planning on having my mother in-law come for a visit. I will be paying for her trip and using my money while she is here for 1-2 months.

Do I need to prove that I have funds to support her while she is here? Do I need to send her a letter of invitation?

In the invitation, should I explain that I want her to visit her daughter, and that we are having a child and want her to witness the birth and see the child?

For future info. I just stated what the visa was needed for and her and her daugther got accepted no problem.
