TRV June application in Manila, Philippines

Hi, anybody here who applied for TRV on paper at the visa processing center in Manila around third week of June? I have submitted my application last June 23 and no progress to date. I have sent three emails to manilimmigration@international.gc.ca requesting for the processing to be expedited because I badly need my passport for a US student visa application. We are required to report to the school on August 11 and I haven't secured my visa yet because I don't have my passport. I actually missed my first 2 appointments with the US embassy so I need to be able to make it for the last time otherwise, I won't have a chance for my PhD anymore.

It takes about two weeks before the Canadian Embassy will respond to your email. They also do not expedite processing if you are only on a regular passport. Sorry about your missed appointments, but you should have also prepared for the possibility your TRV application would go beyond the average processing time. This could have been avoided with better planning, or if you had submitted the application online. You also could have waited to apply for your TRV until after you arrived in the US.

You can try to bring it up with VFS Manila and see if they can contact the Embassy directly to withdraw your passport. No guarantees though.
