I am looking to apply for a TRV outside of Canada with the intent on working under my open work permit (issed inside Canada) until my PR application gets approved. I fear my PR will be approved very soon while I am outside of the country. I traveled back home with an expired visa and want to get back.

The more I read about the TRV the more it seems like they want to see a short term visit, and everything I intend to do shows long term. How do I go about this?

Since I have a work permit do I need to show that people can support me? Is a letter from my previous employer saying I still have a place to stay and work sufficient? I don't have much money in my bank account but I have a letter with my salary on it plus bank statements from when I was working in Canada.

On the application checklist it says fill IMM5257, but all I can find is 5257E, is this the correct one? Under "Funds Available" should I put the actual amount in my bank account (1000), or should I provide my yearly salary for my job waiting for me in Canada?

I can't seem to find much information about tips for applying for a TRV when I already have a work permit.
