Hello all,

I am working in Canada on work permit, valid till Aug 2019. I recently got married and now would like to apply for TRV for my wife in India.

Before getting married she applied for TRV once, by attaching invite through her PR holder friend and that got rejected with reason stating "Given economic conditions, employment prospects, considering travel history, economic establishment and family ties, I am not satisfied that you would respect the term of your admission as a temporary resident in Canada".

Following Canadian proofs were attached with this application:

1. Friend's PR copy
2. Friends Passport copy
3. Rental agreement
4. Latest WiFi bill
5. T4 & Notice of assessment
6. Invite letter

Following documents were attached from my wife:

1. Passport
2. Employment reference letter
3. Salary slips for last 6 months
4. IT returns for last 3 years
5. Bank statements
6. Other investment proofs
7. Cover letter

Please do suggest, what could be the reason for refusal and what other documents should we include in our further application as I would like to process her TRV by using my invite.

Also, in our case is "dependent open work permit" applicable ?

Thanks in advance.

By my interpretation, she can only overcome this type of refusal if her salary had increased, her savings have increased by a lot, or her job position has significantly improved since the last time she applied.

The fact that she is now married to you, who is in Canada, will only make this next application even harder to be approved if nothing in her economic condition has changed.

You should be able to get a dependent visa with even the option of an OWP for your wife.
I came here on WP. And when I got married, I had my company's immigration team help me apply for my wife's Dep Visa. And once she was here, we applied for her OWP.
