Hi Folks
I am an Indian citizen, age 28, living in Toronto on PGWP. I have just recently filed my PR application.
My parents and my elder sister applied for visitors visa to canada just last week in New Delhi and the Canadian High commission refused it based on 2 objections:
1. Travel History
2. Proof of family ties in Canada and in the home country
My father n mother are 67 & 63 yrs old respectively. Both of them have never traveled anywhere before, even though our financial situation is pretty sound. They showed liquid savings of almost $100,000 in the bank, plus various property title deed documents, ITR, proof of rental income.
My sister has traveled to Singapore, Hong Kong, Turkey & Thailand. She included her own employment docs alongwith my parents docs. She has been previously refused for a Canadian study visa couple of years ago.
How should they overcome the objection of travel history? Just because they never traveled in their lives doesn't mean they shouldn't do it now, when they are retired and have lots of free time and can also afford to pay for it!
Should they include a detailed travel itinerary for their stay in Canada (2 weeks)?
My other sister is married and settled in USA, and my parents mentioned in the cover letter that they plan to apply for US visa also, after Canadian visa and want to travel to both countries when they depart from India.
Proof of family ties- Ours is a very small family, so no way we can show more family ties. I was convinced that since my parents are old and have more than reasonable amount of liquid & fixed assets- that it should be sufficient to demonstrate ties to home country.
I have no idea how to overcome the objection of family ties, any suggestions?
They want to re-apply within a week's time otherwise they'd have to wait a whole year for next summer to re-apply, because there's no point in applying for TRV in winters and coming to canada.
