TRV for my Father In-Law and Mother In-Law

Hi Guys/ Friends,

Very simple question and reading through the posts, I got confused so I am trying one more time -

My Father In-Law and Mother in-Law are in India and I would like to get then TRV for less than 6 months. We are expecting and they would like to visit us and be with us. Couple of questions?
1. Can I apply TRV visa for them online?
2. If yes how would we process their passport request. Can the passport be submitted to New Delhi Visa office? As you know Indian passports could not couriered.

Once your in-laws applied, they will send them a letter telling where to submit their passport.

Yes, online. But if paper submission, they would have to submit with passport and other supporting documents.

Paper applications should be submitted along with their passports to the VAC that's nearest to the city/town where they reside. You can check this link: http://www.vfsglobal.ca/Canada/india/contact_us.html

There are other Canadian Visa Offices in India now besides the New Delhi one.

For online applications they will get a letter telling them where to send/submit their passports

Thanks Bryanna. Really appreciate it. From your experience, which one would be faster. As per CIC website New Delhi Visa office takes 6 days to process any TRV? How about online? I guess online application needs to be sent to CPP Ottawa and then you will have passport request..and then....

Please advise.

Hi,

The timelines mentioned on the CIC website are only indicative..... average processing times..... and can vary in reality.

For example, some applicants have recently received their TRVs from the Bangalore consulate in 15-20 business days.... against an expected 8-10 business days.

One cannot say whether paper applications or online applications will be processed faster.... it all depends on the quality of documentation and evidence that one submits to convince the visa officer.

If the applicant gives good reasons to return home + strong ties to his/her home country.... maybe with some previous travel history.... and if no matter is left open to questioning then processing times can even be much faster than those indicated

Hi everybody,

My parents-in-law applied for super visa in Feb and my mother-in-law received medical request via email but my father-in-law hasn't received medical request yet. I wanted to ask, do the applicants get medical requests individually at different times even if the application is filed together in one package? Any insight on this would be appreciated. My MIL has already visited once but FIL has applied for Canadian visitor visa for the first time.
