I am currently on a temporary work permit from Australia (for 3 months) in Canada. My girlfriend is hoping to come up in a few weeks and visit for a month (she is Argentinian and will be coming from Argentina). I have looked around the site however there is so much information that there was a couple of points I needed to clarify. Really hoping someone can help
Proof of Funds
How much will she need to show and in what form? I was thinking $3k may be enough and from looking at the site it appears you can get a letter of some sort from the bank? Her Bank is in Argentina and so the money would be showed in Pesos, is that OK? In reality, she will not need much money given I will be paying for most things and she wont have to pay for accommodation, utilities etc.
Invitation letter
I know I am not a Canadian citizen, however I thought it wouldnt hurt to write an invitation letter. I was going to attach my work permit which will prove my status and also the fact that I am not staying here for long. I thought that would help, given if it looks as if I will leave then it would support her not staying in Canada without status.
Proof of Ties
All her family live in Argentina and she also has to go back to start Uni. So, would some letter confirming her enrolment be useful? Is it worth her writing a letter to outline these ties or is an enrolment from uni confirmation sufficient? She is a student and currently does not have work or many assets.
