Hello there,
I would appreciate any of your advice with my inquiry:
I would like to help and invite my cousins to come visit me during their summer vacation (April-May) for around 3 weeks. They are all Philippines citizens and are ages 18-25. The thing is I'm trying to get all 10 (not all of the same direct family) of them to come at the same time, because it would be so hard to 'choose' who to sponsor to come over, and I love them all and would have so much fun together as a group.
I sent them the TRV applications to fill out, and they will call the Canadian Embassy in Manila to find out whether the application is mailed/how the $75 fee is to be paid, etc.
Until then, I would like to find out what the normal procedure is. It says it takes around 2 months so if we start applying early January, by April I hope to have an answer and by God's grace an approval.
Some background on my cousins: some are still studying, the older ones are working. I'm guessing the ones with jobs have better chances of getting approved.
However, if the younger ones have sufficient funds in their bank accounts by the help of their parents, and myself sponsoring them, would age still be an issue?
I also have a question for the youngest one, who is currently 17 (at time of application) but will be 18 at the time of the trip? Is it completely pointless for him to apply? Or if simply the parents' sign for him and show their bank accounts, it should be fine?
Also, how much money approximately should they show on their bank accounts?? (Food and lodging will be paid for)
Also, is an interview required usually??? And what documents should they bring?
If the trip and stay is being sponsored by a 3rd party family member (someone who is not in the Philippines, and not the Host in Canada) will an Affidavit of Support be required? And will it be a problem if the Host in Canada, is also getting supported by the 3rd party (in the US).
I am trying to be as positive and determined as possible to make this happen, I would really love to see them and give them the chance to experience another country and amazing city such as Vancouver.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP!!!!!!
