TRV for a parent

My husband and I are looking to apply for a TRV for his mom to visit us. I am wondering how other people are doing it: did you have parents just collect all the documents themselves and send them to a visa processing office? Or did you do it for them online? If you did it online, did you fill out the use of representative form or just set up an account in their name and managed things yourself without disclosing that to CIC?
If we do submit a Use of representative form, how do we make an online application for her? Paper application just takes way too long...

I guess the use of the representative form vs. just submitting on their behalf is a personal choice.

Follow the online wizard, answering the questions first as if you are the parent, and then answer the question about the representative in the affirmative. The checklist should generate the forms and requirements...you’ve been through Express Entry, so this should be a piece of cake.

Even signatures of the applicant aren’t necessary, but at least I hope your MIL can get help to submit soft copies of her docs (even cell phone pics are accepted so long as they’re legible) if she is not computer savvy and you choose to submit for her.
