TRV extension to apply common law sponsorship

I came here in Canada through the travel exemption for couples who are in an exclusive relationship.

Is it possible to extend my stay for another 6 months to complete the 1 year required for applying common law? Will it be suspicious to the officers?

Can I have a valid status after applying for common law sponsorship or do I need to extend again my visitors visa? Will they allow me during this time of pandemic?

Marriage is not an option because we are not yet in that stage of the relationship.

Thanks for future feedbacks

hi there,

we are on the same boat. i came here as visitor visa, i will be 1 year next month (march) i did my 2nd time extention but havent heard from ircc. i was approved for my 1st visa extention due to pandemic and airport were close and the reason for my 2nd extention is to apply for commonlaw plus the pandemic. and we state there too that we're not ready to get married as we have experienced from our past relationship.
as far as i read on forums and group chats, we must have a valid visa before we apply pr under commonlaw category.

good luck to us. hope someone can give advice to us here.
be safe
