I received my extended study permit in Nov 2024. My original study permit and TRV was set to expire in March 2025. And the new one is valid until June 2026.
I applied for a new TRV from inside Canada on Feb 16, 2025. The IRCC application tracker shows that it's still stuck in background verification. It's been past the nominal processing time of 15 days displayed on the IRCC portal.
I contacted the IRCC and also raised a webform, both said the same thing that they've passed a note to the processing office saying that the application is over the processing time .
I have to travel to the US for an internship in early May and I was hoping that I would get the new TRV before that.
Is there anything I can do to get some traction on the application?
