TRV Extension Help!

Hello Expert!

I am confused as to when to file for my TRV Extension.
My original point of entry was Aug 2014. I Renue my TRV every six months. The last one was July 28, 2015., I received a positive reply of Another TRV record last Dec 2015 ( Dec 7, 2015) and will expire on Dec 31, 2016.

Now my question is, do I have to file this February ( I am thinking that I still have to base on the 6 months rules of TRV base on my original point of entry to Canada, which is Aug 2014), or
I can file on or before June 2016 base on the TRV record cic grant last December 2015.
Anybody who could enlighten me is very much appreciated.

TRVs cannot be extended, they are renewed and they don't give status. A TRV is a sticker in your passport.

You have been extending your visitor status and have been given visitor records.

You say you were given an extension until December 2016. Why do you worry now?
