It is possible for you to apply from Manila. But why would you that? Why not try again from UAE. Just make sure that you submit all the documents needed from you. And make sure you comply with whatever the reason they gave you for denying you the visa.

Application of TRV from Manila takes 2 to 3 weeks. And there is no waiting period. You can apply immediately after you've been denied.

Let me clarify this. What was stamped on your passport? If you got a rejected, you'll receive a letter with the reason of the rejection and on your passport of TRV denied.

hi..you really felt bad if ur application been denied but i think the immigration officers are just doing their job.like me,i was denied too.although my intention is just really to see the country,in their minds i'm not a genuine traveller, that i will leave canada after my visit..i'm a 60 yr.old woman and some people my age have dreams too and one of those is to visit countries that i've just seen in magazines and in the internet only..but then i was denied because of some reasons...not strong enough ties in my country of residency..i've been here for almost 20 yrs now and i'm happy where i am..and insufficient funds..i got 5000usd in my own account for a week stay not including the tickets and the hotel which i booked prior to my travel and travel insurance..but still i was denied..maybe i'm not just lucky this time and just have to try again.. to zsahimi...thanks and to dudebr.thanks for the kind words..

My girlfriend was denied for the second time,I don't know what to think anymore or what else to do.What does it take to convince these people,I guess her daughter isn't enough to return home to. How sad it is to learn how cold and mean our government is when a child isn't good enough. A person can't even send letters explaining things to a VO cause they don't even read them. I guess when robots learn to read and develop feelings we all will be better off.

same thing here... my gf was denied and I am just helpless. I spoke to my MP and all I got was a sorry face. Why is CIC out to punish the people they ought to serve? I wish I could face the immigration minister and ask him these tough questions. I serve this country yet this country make me unhappy.

Most of the reason why people get denied is they can not prove that they are strongly attached to their country of origin. In your case, your girlfriend has every reason to not leave Canada after her visit. The reason is she may want to live with you and may overstay or may apply from within Canada to extend her stay.

It is really frustrating..

So what do I do in this case? Should I quit my job and go spend time with her so that we can know each other and eventually get married? This should take me about 1 to 2 years outside Canada.

Is it considered automatic that one will want to stay in Canada just because someone is visiting a boyfriend or girlfriend? If it is considered automatic that everyone in that situation will 'abscond' and not go back to their home country, then the embassy should say so on their website and outrightly ban people in such situations from applying. Then, that way we do not waste application fees. Afterall, if I wanted her to immigrate, all I have to do is travel to go marry her and bring her here on a PR.

Why do these people enjoy punishing perople that try to do things the right way?

Application fees generate income for the Canadian government, that's why :)

I think the Visa Officer have been generalizing based on actual experiences they had from the past. There are people who overstay or come in illegally. It is a sad fact that because of these people, everyone has been impacted.

Maybe your GF can establish that she travels and comes back to her home country.. This is one way to prove that she has every intention of going back to her native land everytime she goes out.

Trying to understand the mindset of visa officers is a losing game, Alabaman. A Canadian acquaintance where I live got a TRV for his wife, whose situation is quite similar to my wife's situation. Yet my wife's TRV application was turned down. He even told the border officer when entering Canada that they were going to apply inland for her PR, with no problem.

Wanting to know why my wife had been "discriminated against", I complained to the visa office, and used the CAIPS notes to refute the logic used by the Visa Officer in denying our TRV application. The person in the visa office assigned to reply to my letter explained their reasoning, and advised me that if I decided to re-apply, to use the points I had expressed in my letter of compaint.
oversight,
When I pointed out that indeed I HAD used those very points in my cover letter, I heard nothing more. When I re-sent my last message, I still got no response.

So, these visa officers have an immense amount of arbitrary power, and can use it without being accountable.

I am not really sure if it does help.. but you can try..

I know how frustrating it is.. my parents were denied too, twice.. just because their only travel history is going to Thailand.. We are trying to find some ways on how they can get into Canada.. We might try to apply for a US tourist visa.. then from US we'll try to apply for a Canadian tourist visa..

What I dont understand is she was able to get a visa going to UK but was denied a Canadian visa? Isnt the computation for the cost of living higher in UK than in Canada?
