TRV application pending for almost 2 months!!!

Hi,
I applied for my TRV extension 2 months ago (Nov 24, 2014) and I still did not receive my passport back.

Did anyone face this before?

I sent an email to CIC and they sent me a very general reply:

"Dear Sir/Madam,

Reference: V30511XXXX

No action is required on your part at this time. One or more of the following could delay the processing of your application:

your application is not complete;
you need a medical exam;
you need a background or security check;
you have a criminal record;
you need an interview;
we need to verify your documents; or
other external factors beyond our control.

For further information please consult ***CIC Website***
Should you wish to travel urgently and recover your passport, you may send us a request to withdraw your application. Please note that you retain the option of applying for a temporary resident visa at the overseas mission responsible for the country where you will be travelling.


We thank you for your patience. In order to efficiently process requests, we will not reply to duplicate emails.

Did U use the proper address? I mean did U send to the PO Box address or the other.
I mean sometimes this elays the process?
Paper based takes more time!!!

Are you applying for TRV extension? I believe that takes much longer than new TRV.

TRV extension is taking 100 days.

PS: with extended WP.

I put Extension of Visa because my previous visa got expired few months ago.

If I put New that would be wrong.

Yes, I sent my CEC application 1 week after applying for TRV extension.

I also applied for trv extension online for my self and my wife on Nov 10,2014.

I got passport request for myself on Nov 14th, and I got approved on Nov 22nd.

But My wife's passport is still under process.

I emailed couple of times, but didn't get any reply until now.
( Did you use the same CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca email address? )

I am also waiting for at least for a reply why there is a delay.
( To be clear I applied for PR under CEC in feb 2014, did medicals in august )

Can you please update whenever you got approved.

When a TRV expires, it is considered a new TRV application. You will apply for a new TRV as long as you have a valid PGWP or BOWP...
