TRV application online from Mexico, no response after a month

Hello there everyone,
I am Canadian, and my boyfriend from Mexico. We have processed a trv application online a month ago together, from Mexico.
We did not mention our relationship because we have heard that it could possibly get him a refusal. He has a really good government job. He owns a house, has money in his savings account and has no criminal record. He also has shared custody of his son with the mother. He has never travelled out of Mexico.
We were told that for this, he was a great candidate.
About 2 weeks later, immigration asked for schedule 1 form and a detailed CV in english. So we processed that the same day and since then, havent heard anything.
Could this be because of his military experience? Because he works basically for the government?
According to your opinions, would time be a good sign? Would they have simply refused him the visa by now if they were not considering him?
I know these questions are some poeple ask all the time, but I found lots of good info on this site and decide to ask my questions here.
Is this forum monitored? As in, should I be careful not to give to much info about him in case?
Also, I know that Canada is planning on banning the required visa for Mexicans by Dec the 1st of this year, could this may be, play in our favor?

It is never adviced to try to give a false impression to CIC.

Maybe.

Refusals are usually communicated very soon, so the most we can say is that it is still un process.

You shouldn't be concerned about this as an application should be open and transparent. If you got something to hide then maybe CIC has found that as well.

If he is travelling after December 1st then yes.

My boyfriend and I have been in a relationship for over three years he lives in Mexico and I live in Winnipeg.
We applied for a TRV in late March 2016 we were approved within two weeks. We told them about our relationship and I sent him an invitation letter saying he would be staying with me. We showed income bank accounts etc.

Honesty works we found out. They approved the application quickly once we the had supporting documents. In the documents, we showed ties to Mexico which sound similar to yours. Such as identification for his children that proved their ages and that he needed to return to support them financially and emotionally. We proved also that he had blue Cross medical coverage. If you have other questions about our situation that you think could help please ask or private message if you like.

Did you send the passport or have they requested it?
Waiting is so frustrating and all through the process they don't say anything. Even in the end when we were approved they never stated that. They just returned the passport with the visa inside.
