TRV application from Dubai. On a visitor visa

Hi folks!
I hold a PGWP but had to travel to India due to family emergency, and I did not get a chance to apply for TRV while leaving Canada.
I applied for TRV on 12th November from Dubai, UAE and currently in Dubai on visitor visa. I did so because VACs in India were closed.

Anyone in similar situation, how long does it take to process TRVs from Dubai if you already hold an open work permit and biometrics number?
Online it shows 300 days ‍♂

That is the processing time & doesn’t include time for biometrics which you have. Having an open work permit doesn’t expedite you application. You may get it sooner.

I read on this platform that in some cases people got TRV approved within a month. Does it take longer because I am in dxb on a visit visa and not on a residential visa?

Not sure. People may have been approved within a month during non-Covid times but haven't heard lately.

I just read that if I am exempt from travel restriction as foreign worker and need to apply for TRV IMM5257.
I must fill Purpose of travel as OTHER from drop down menu and in Description field COVID-19. Exactly in capital letters to prioritize my application.
I filled Returning Worker as purpose of my visit instead.

I am just stuck now, cant even file the application again.
