TRV application from Canada - online or via mail?

Hello,

I would like to apply for TRV and I am confused between the two options available.

The checklist to apply by mail is different than checklist that was generated online. I completed the questioner online and based on that i only have to submit TRV form IMM5257, medical proof, work permit, and fees. However, if you look at the inside Canada checklist, it also asks for family information (IMM5645).

Does anyone know why the online checklist doesn't ask for family form?

Has anyone experienced this?

May be they want to get proof if you have intentions to stay in Canada for good...

I would apply by mail - the processing time longer and you have prolonged stay in Canada... but it just an option.
