I recently received an extension for my open work permit alongside my wife’s extended study permit. We would like to apply for a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) because we need to visit another country, and our original TRV expired along with our original study and work permits.
My question is regarding the application process: when I attempt to apply with my spouse under the family member section, I am prompted to complete form IMM 5708 (required) instead of the TRV application form IMM 5257. However, when I try to apply alone for the Temporary Resident Visa, the system requires me to fill out form IMM 5257 (required) and does not mention form IMM 5708.
Since I only need a visa sticker in my passport, should I apply for the Temporary Resident Visa with my wife, or would it be better to apply separately? Thank you for your help!
