Hello all,
Intention:
To invite my fiancee to Canada on a TRV to get married to me.

My background:
33 year old female, born in Canada and a Canadian Citizen
Have travelled frequently to US, Middle East, Europe, and all around Canada
Middle class salary and work in canada, however live with parents so liquid funds available

My fiance's background:
37 year old male, born in Egypt, Egyptian citizen, living and working in Qatar on contract for the last 5 years
Travelled to Gulf Arab States, Georgia, however has not been anywhere western like Europe or North America.

We have been talking online for quite a while, ie. 2.5 years as friends and about 6-7 months as boyfriend and girlfriend and our plans are to get married.

We met in Qatar this month and have pictures together as well as plenty of online chats, etc.

My question is, if I want to invite him to Canada to get married to me, is it worth a try? Has anyone heard of this workkng?

I cannot find an example of someone asking for their fiancee to come to Canada to get married.

I understand ties to home are very important and probably are the major deciding factor, however, has anyone had success with inviting their fiancee for marriage to Canada? He does have significant ties to his current residence such as a work contract and he has property in Egypt. I do not know if this is sufficient.

I figure if we are rejected, we will both travel to Egypt to marry, but I thought this may be worth a try and would be a lot less struggle bringing my older parents all the way to Egypt.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!
