TRV Advice

Hello:

I have a friend who I've invited to stay with me for a month this summer.

He lives in Chile but has a Colombian Passport so needs a TRV.

He is employed in Chile but does not have much savings however I will be funding the trip and hosting.

I was looking at enrolling him in an ESL course here for a week as he can benefit from the course for his job in Chile.

Are the chances of being approved higher if attending a course?

If the purpose of the trip is for study plus visiting a friend, when applying do you select Study or Visiting Family & Friends or both?

Also, does anyone know if the application is approved, what does someone in Santiago do as there is no visa office, the closest is Buenos Aires.

If biometrics are required, are applicants expected to travel to Buenos Aires?

Any help would be appreciated.

He is the one that should show enough funds to afford the trip. Sponsorship DOES NOT waive this requirement.

No.

A 1 week course is not considered "study".

What do you mean? Everything is done by mail.

Applicants are expected to provide all needed documents.

Biometrics are not taken at the Visa Processing Center. Therefore it should not matter if there is no VPC office in Santiago.

They send the passport via courier to the VFS office in Buenos Aires.
