TRP APPLICATION SEND TO LOCAL OFFICE WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

Hi everyone here...I'm new. My case is like this I had a 3 year open work permit which end in April this year. I submit my renewal open work permit in March but get denied due to no valid LMO and passport almost expired. So in June I find a lawyer, she helped me submit my TRP application on June 20, 2012.
Due to I have 2 canadian born kids which under the age of 4, and the kids father is currently incarcerated and I have pending charges by being accessory with him when he arrested. My trial is on Feb 2013. So due to the best interested of the kids and my pending charges I submit a TRP application in June 20. 2012. They say I would get a review by Oct which is 16 weeks. I just recieved another letter last weeks states they are transferring my file to Immigration Centre in ST. Clair I guess its in Toronto Local Office. I was wondering is anyone know anyting about TRP? What does that mean that they transfer my file to local office? Is that mean soon I will probably get an interview????? How long does it take after it transfer to local office? I already have waited for 3 month already, how long will I be waiting until I get a result? Will I get approved???? Usually How long will they approve me staying? I am also currently just submit my H & C immigration case. Anyone knows about it?????????

Temporary Resident Permits are complicated because they are discretionary and are essentially allowed because they permit the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration to exempt a person from the normal admissibility rules - they are in effect, a "safety valve" that allows for cases that don't fit inside the normal rules.

TRPs are described in OP 20 "Temporary Resident Permits" available on the CIC website.

Normally, persons who do not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection
Act are refused permanent resident or temporary resident visas abroad, denied admission at a
port of entry, or refused processing within Canada. In some cases, however, there may be
compelling reasons for an officer to issue a temporary resident permit to allow a person who does
not meet the requirements of the Act to enter or remain in Canada.

The reason your file would be sent to a local office is because they wish to interview you:

Officers may interview the client as part of the enforcement, selection, or counselling process.
Interviews provide officers with information regarding possible inadmissibility and violations of the
Act. Officers may also use interviews to assess credibility, confirm facts related to need and/or
risk and communicate concerns to the client.

Officers do not have to interview all applicants for temporary resident permits. If an officer is sure
the applicant is eligible for a permit, is credible, and does not represent a risk to Canadian
society, an interview may not serve any useful purpose. If the officer is uncertain about either of
the last two factors, an interview should be held.

Vegreville cannot interview you, so they would refer it to a local office for an interview.

TRP processing is very slow because they fall outside the norm. I filed a TRP application in Seattle back in February 2012 and they started processing it two weeks ago (I had a nice conversation on the telephone about it with the officer in Seattle at which she told me that it wasn't going to be necessary since my PR application was all but done.)

If you have an attorney, she should be able to explain all of this to you as well.

Hi nanababy, I am in the same situation as yours. I am also applying for H&C and TRP. I just received the letter from CIC saying that my TRP file is transferred to Vancouver office.
Can you tell me what will happen next after you receive the letter? and how long does it take to receive final decision from the date you receive the letter?
I am very appreciated that.
