Hello all,
I am an IEC participant from Ireland and recently applied for a work permit extension due to the expiration of my passport cutting 14 months of my two year work permit short. I researched and found that passport expiry is one of the few cases in which you can extend a work permit. I applied for the extension by paper some months ago, and finally received an email from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada regarding my application.
The email states that I have to link my paper account to my online CIC account and pay a sum of money in order for them to continue processing my application. I was also given a deadline to this.
However, each time I try and access this by linking the account I'm given a response saying that there were no matches based on my results. I've researched and found that many people have had similar issues in trying to link their accounts on myCIC.
This is a very frustrating experience and I'm in need of some help. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
Ciarán.
