Hi guys,

Looking for some advice.

In feb i travelled to Nova Scotia to meet my girlfriend for the first time after meeting her on the internet.
When going through immigration i was very surprised when entering the country that i was questioned about my intentions of going there. I have never ever been questioned at an airport before so this was a bit of a shock.
i had to prove with conversations on my phone that this was a genuine thing and that i had return flights and my work were expecting me back after my week stay. i can understand they do not want me entering and never leaving.
I plan to head back there in september and do not want there to be any chance that this could happen and this time not be so lucky and get sent back home.

Is there anything i can do in terms of visas that will allow me a short trip (one week) unquestioned or as i have shown before that i have come and gone when stated that there will now be a level of trust that i will leave again.

I am full uk passport holder and will enter with a return ticket purchased and a hotel booked for the nights i am there.

any advice would be appreciated.

Phil

Unfortunately, there is none. Just be prepared next time you arrive at the immigration.

I have never heard of any person travelling from one country to another without being questioned.

Maybe in Europe, but well this is America :p

I would suggest that your gf writes for you an invitation letter, a simple one with her personal information. That should do it.
