Hello,

I have become a PR in April 2013. In 3 days I have to travel outside the Canada and the problem is I still have not received my PR card. Can someone give me an advice what can happened when I enter Canada without the PR card?..(I dont know if this helps, but I am from the country which does not require visa to enter Canada...)

Thank you very much for your help!

No problem. You can return to Canada on the strength of your home country passport.

Yea, they will definitely ask for your landing papers. As your immigration visa was cancelled as soon as you got your PR status.

Bring your COPR / landing paper just in case they ask for it!
Assumption is, your passport is from visa exempt country.

I have just landed today and consulted the CBSA officer.

The PR Card currently takes 6-8 weeks to arrive after landing. During that time, 1 of the 2 copies of Confirmation of Permanent Residence is stapled to my passport. This is recognized and can be used for all land crossings before the arrival of my PR Card. However, if I were to enter by air, I would need to apply for a temporary travel document. No visa applications are required any more as I am now a Permanent Resident. I am to keep the Confirmation of Permanent Residence document even after receipt of the PR Card, as it is the only proof of my status should I lose the PR card.

I hope this helps. Cheers.
