Hello,

Does any of you have experience travelling to USA with American Airlines using Canadian Refugee Travel Document? Does American Airlines accept and recognize RTD like Air Canada? American airlines is cheaper then Air Canada, I am looking to book with American Airlines.

Airlines comply to Country's specific entry requirement, and not other way round. United States recognizes Canada RTD as valid travel document, AA should accept it

The airline is irrelevant. They are all required to follow the same rules. As long as you have a US visa, you are good to go.

They’ll just punch all the information in TI-MATIC. The system airlines use to check documents. If it says yes, your good to go. If it’s a no, you won’t get past checkin.
As mentioned, the airline you’re travelling on is irrelevant. If you’re traveling thru a major airport in Canada . You will have pre clearance . Once checked in , off to the CBP. They make the final determination whether or not you’ll be allowed entry. Example. If you don’t have a US visa , you won’t even be allowed into the pre clearance area . Document expired ? No go . If the agent isn’t sure , and it’s a pre clearance airport , they’ll just walk into the pre clearance area and ask an officer . They won’t allow you to accompany them .
