Hi, my wife came here on visitor visa and we applied for inland sponsorship. It is still in process. In the meantime we got open work permit. Now i wonder if she can travel and come back to canada with owp and visitor visa while her inland sponsorship is still in process. Is there anyone who has experience like this?
I need help.

Hi newsted83. I travelled twice this year with my spouse (who is my sponsor) with a valid OWP and a valid TRV while my inland spousal pr application was in process. Both times I travelled with my spouse and we came back and crossed the Canadian border together. No issues at all. Before travelling we messaged the IRCC on twitter and here's the word by word response they provided:

"If you currently live in Canada and you leave for a short trip, as long as you continue to live full-time with the spouse or partner who is sponsoring you, this shouldn't affect your application. Before leaving, you should make sure your status in Canada will still be valid when you return"

Hope it helps

Thank you so much. My concern is I might come back before her. Because of my work. I hope it still works if she has to come back alone.

I see your point. Although IRCC did not specify it in their response to my message, I would suggest you to message them on Twitter and ask this question. Not sure how it is now, but a few months ago they were quite good with responses on Twitter within a few business days

As long as she's just gone for a few weeks, there's no issue. But you want to avoid long absences.

Did you DM them or you mentioned on a post?
