Travelling to USA for 3 days after applying Canadian Citizenship- Please help

I submitted my Citizenship application online on June 22. I haven't received AOR yet.

I will be travelling to USA for business trip next week from Canada. I will be in USA for 3 days. Do I need to notify and/or update my application after I return from USA trip?

Nah, they won't care.
IRCC wants to be notified in order not to schedule you for something during your trip, and obviously, nothing that requires your presence in Canada will happen in the next few days while you didn't get your AOR yet.

Generally one does need to keep returning to Canada long enough to maintain the residency obligation (RO) and thus keep PR (unless under a qualifying exception like following a Canadian spouse aboard), but considering that it's 1095 days to be eligible for citizenship vs 730 for RO, you'd have to be gone for quite a while before this becomes a serious concern... a short trip like OP's wouldn't raise any issues or concerns.
