Hi there,

I just graduated and have recently applied for my PGWP. I would like to go home and visit my parents on my study permit before it expires, however, I have read conflicting things. On the CIC website, it states that my study permit will expire on the date stated (08/2021) or 90 days "on the date you get the first notification from your school that you completed your program" - whichever comes first. Is that date the day we got our final grades and our degree was conferred, or the date we got our diploma?

TIA!

The date you got your program completion letter/degree granted on your transcript. Not when you physically got your diploma.

Would really start the PGWP processing now. It is taking so many months. You can wait to be approved at home if you want.

You may get stuck in your home country. Many are stuck due to covid and if there are flights they are extremely expensive.
