Hi guys,

I'd be coming to Canada (Spousal Visa) in the middle of April this year. Now I know that as soon as you land, the process for the issuance of the PR Card starts from the Airport it self, and by today's processing time, it takes about 90 days for the PR Card to arrive.

Now, I am from a non-exempt visa country (Pakistani passport), but do have a valid US Visa. I have to visit my brother in the US soon after I land, so my question is this -

From what I have read, the best and most viable option to do so (Without a PR Card) is to cross the border from Niagra (Which shouldn't really be an issue since I have a valid US Visa), fly to and back from Buffalo Airport to Denver (Where my brother resides), and walk back across/Use private vehicle to get back into Canada. From what I gather, my passport, along with the COPR should suffice for me getting back to Canada (Since the PR Card wouldnt have been issued, and I need to visit him at the earliest after landing).

Is this doable?

Cheers!

If you can get to the US-Canadian border, a COPR and passport will work fine to get you in.

In our experience, the agent was slightly annoyed when we crossed at Niagara without a PR card, but there were no issues.

Thank you very much Kate!
