Hi Guys,

I am in a bit of fix here. Before I ask questions let me just give you a quick rundown of my situation.

I am already in Canada and work full time here.
Post Grad Work Permit / Visa valid till - September 2015
CEC application - December 2013
Medicals requested - June 9 2014

I have to visit India during mid August 2014, as of now I am not sure if I have enough time for medical + pr visa stamping + landing + pr card arrival.

It would be a great help if someone can answer my following questions related to PR stamping

1. Will my work visa (W-1) be cancelled when I send my passport for PR visa stamping?

2. After PR visa stamping can I travel to India and then land as a Permanent resident when I return back to Canada via an international flight?

3. Will my status (worker) change if I get my PR visa stamped and then wait for landing?

4. On an average how long is PR visa valid?

No.

Yes.

No.

One year from the day you took your medical exam (or the expiry date of your passport whichever is earlier)

Just curious, is PR visa stamped on another page and I will still have a valid W1 till I land as a permanent citizen? Trying to figure out what documents I might need when boarding return flight from India as they confirm if you have a valid visa or not before you board the airplane.

Quick question to people who have already landed:

- On landing do they cancel your existing visa (for example W1)?
