Traveling to Canada while the citizenship certificate is in progress

Hello, I am Canadian living in Europe and my baby was born in Finland.

We are planning to visit my parents in Canada soon so I applied for eTAs (for baby and girlfriend) which were accepted.

The thing is that I asked for a citizenship certificate for my baby, it's in progress (should take months). Can that cause an issue at the border?

You should be fine. Baby can fly on Finland passport with eTA linked to it (just don't mention anything about Canadian citizenship to the airline), and once at Canadian airport just explain situation to CBSA.

Whether baby is a Finnish citizen or Canadian citizen, they would be allowed into Canada regardless.

I am a canadian citizen. My baby is born in pakistan. How much time will it take for her citizenship card to arrive?? My wife has also received her PR. Just waiting for the citizenship card of my baby.

Alright so just an update, I had absolutely no issue flying to Montreal with an ETA for my child with a finnish passport and with a citizenship certificate in progress. I flew from Paris CDG with air Transat and they just asked my girlfriend if she had an ETA.
