Hi,
I landed a few days ago in Canada, but had to leave because of my job in the US. I provided my friend's address to receive the PR card in Canada.
My question is that what my options are for returning to Canada before receiving my PR card. Which of these options is the correct one?
1. Since I have a US green card, should I apply for eTA to travel to Canada? This seemed to be the best option, but the CIC website says permanent residents should not apply for eTA. Will such application adversely affect my status in Canada?
2. Apply for a PR travel document. I am reluctant to do this, because I will need to travel soon, and I doubt this will be ready by then. How long does this really take? Is there a chance for this to be denied?
Any help or guidance is gratefully appreciated.
Thanks.
