Travel without PR card

I Live in Toronto. I landed on 8th of August, 2014 as PR. Do not have my PR card as it'll come in 8 weeks. Need to visit US on September long weekend and I am driving my own car. Can I do that with PR confirmation letter?

yep... if you are traveling by car, all you need is your passport and copr.

even if you are traveling by air, you would use your passport to get on the plane (since you don't require a visa), then use your copr and passport at immigration.
