Travel overseas while sponsoring parents

Hi,

I'm a permanent resident and I plan to sponsor my parents in the near future

While sponsoring my parents for Canadian pr, am I required to stay in Canada until their applications are approved or could I travel to other countries for business or leisure in the interim provided that my primary residence is still in Canada?

Yes you can travel as long as it isn’t for long periods of time.

Short trips are fine but you seem to be suggesting being out of Canada for months at a time.

short trips means less than 3 weeks (in general).
