Hi,

I am already on a work permit living in Canada since last year and had submitted documents for Express Entry FSW in April 2019.
I received the appointment date for CoPR for Sept 4th 2019.

Here's my question:
The document mentions - "If you cannot attend this interview and/or have pre-booked travels outside of Canada within 30 days following your final determination for permanent residence interview, please contact us via email fo customer support"

1) Does it mean I should not travel outside Canada after my CoPR interview for 30 days before I receive the PR cards? Does IRCC keep te Passports during the CoPR interview and send back in a few weeks with the PR cards?

2) Is it fine if I travel outside Canada (considering I have my work permit valid until 2021) before the CoPR interview?

Thanks.

You can leave Canada. However, once you are a PR, you will not be able to return to Canada via a commercial carrier without a PR card or PRTD, unless you are an American citizen. That is why they advise that.

Is this the answer to Q1 or Q2? Before CoPR interview or after?

Thanks.

Answer to both is that you can leave whenever you want. You just need to be aware of requirements to return to Canada as a PR.
