Travel document processing time

Let's talk about people who want to go abroad before having PR card.
Would you please share the processing time for getting the Travel Document?

Mine just got PRTD 5 days after submitted.

A side q: what kind of a document is PRTD? Is a visa or a permit or something else?

PRTD is Permanent resident travel document. They will issue only single entry visa, valid for 6 months, apply if who want to travel out of Canada and still did not received PR card.

I have landed on Mach 3rd and waiting for PR card.

meanwhile I have to go to india and come back..

1. Can I apply PRTD when I'm in canada and then travel to india and come back.
2. if not PRTD can only be applied in other country.. ?
3. when you say it took 5 days to get PRTD..Is it online or paper application?

You aren't able apply PRTD within Canada. However, you will be able apply PRTD through VSF from India by paper application. Please see the link below,
